Vice-Principal Preschool/Elementary Katrina Bloom is from New Brunswick, Canada. She received her honours degree in languages as well as her Bachelor of Education from St. Thomas University. She has previously worked as a teacher (K-8) in both Madrid, Spain and New Brunswick, Canada for 5 years.

Principal Nursery/ Preschool/Elementary Grace McCallum, Pre-School and Elementary School Principal, received her Master’s of Education degree in Administration and Educational Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. Grace completed her undergraduate degree in English and History at St. Thomas University, Canada.Throughout her career, Grace has taught at various grade levels both in Canada and abroad. She moved to Beijing in 2006 and has worked at CISB since 2007. During her time at CISB, Grace has taught grade 3 and has served as the school’s Literacy Department Head for 6 years.Grace’s leadership philosophy is based on a collaborative approach to leadership, leadership as service and 21st century education. She strongly believes in consistently reflecting and reevaluating the way in which we are meeting the unique needs of the millennial learner. Grace encourages her team to be innovative in their approach to education. She also strives to know each member of the teaching team’s strengths so that they can be used in the collaborative process of maintaining the growing success of our elementary school.Grace is thrilled about her new role as principal in the school that she has called home for 7 years! She is looking forward to collaborating with students, staff, and parents to maintain the success CISB has experienced.

Principal of Middle/High Trent Munn, Principal of Middle/High School, received his Master’s of Education degree in Administration and Educational Leadership, a Diploma of Advanced Undergraduate Studies in Guidance and his Bachelors of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick. He has worked as principal of Moncton High School, with a population of 1200 students in grades 9 to 12.He was also the principal of Caledonia Regional School, a grade 6 to 12 school with a population of 400 students. Trent has also worked as a vice principal, guidance counsellor and department head, and has taught in excess of thirty different courses during his thirty year career. He has many years experience hosting Chinese students both in his home and at his school. This is his second visit to China having visited for three weeks in July 2010. He is pleased to return to China and is looking forward to supporting staff and students as we focus on academic success.

Head of School Douglas K. Prescott received his Master of Education Degree with a specialization in School Administration, his Principal’s Certificate, his Bachelor of Education Degree and his New Brunswick Teaching License all in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Mr. Prescott has also received Certification from the National Association for Secondary School Administrators -NASSP –a program for assessing future principals and vice-principals; he also holds advanced training Certification from the PLC Coaching Academy in establishing Professional Learning Communities; he also holds Level 2 Threat Assessment Certification.
